Hi there! Today I’m joining Simon Says Stamp for Day 2 of their Best Days Release Blog Hop. There is so much amazing inspiration showcasing the awesome new Best Days Release.
I have a couple of projects to share using some of my faves from the new release. I just had to play with a few more of the adorable new Picture Book dies. My first card features the Picture Book Walrus. I die cut the Walrus with white cardstock and blended Salty Ocean, Pumice Stone & Hickory Smoke to add the color.
For the background I embossed the hexagon images from Bubble Tracker in clear and then blended Distress inks over in Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon. The sentiment is from the Emphatic stamp set.
My next card showcases the Picture Book Lamb die.
For the background I stamped the Reverse Polka background cling using Sea Glass & Maliblue ink. I die cut a window opening using one of the Nested Circle dies and added a sentiment from Oh Baby.
Here is a video to show you how I created these cards.

March 10, 2018 at 3:06 pmLaura, I love those hexagons, the honeycomb part, but I just don’t need all the other stuff — and I don’t know what it’s for! I mean I’m sure you’re right it’s for planning and probably goal tracking knowing Cathy (which I don’t, but I know her work), so I’ll just have to see if I have enough money for a $17.00 honeycomb stamp! :). I love your blue-eyed lamb (before I forget), SO cute! And that reverse polka dot is amazing! How come I don’t already have a background stamp like that? What’s the matter with me? Oh well, I can get it now at least….

They are definitely on my Wish List though and so if there are any designers out there who have finished with their SSS picture book characters I would give them a really loving home. Thank you for sharing these designs with us crafters. :O)

March 13, 2018 at 11:27 pmI love, love, love the background on your walrus card because it uses my favorite color in the whole world, yellow. I’m not sure how I feel about the walrus. He is cute but I don’t think I would use that stamp.

April 4, 2018 at 2:39 amI’m in love with your walrus card !! blue-grey on rainbow colours is really lovely !!
I have one question though … when I do “resist” stamping, the colours always seem to colour my heat embossed image … so I wonder if it wouldn’t be easier to stamp after having applied the distress inks or oxides ? do you also do that way sometimes ? Or is it better to emboss first ?
Anyway, I have a lot of work to do now : visiting every post on your blog haha ;)) I love your work so much ! Thanks for sharing 🙂
