Hi there! Today I’m joining Altenew for their December Stand-alone Dies Release Blog Hop. If you are following the hop then you should have arrived here from the Altenew Card Blog.
For my first card I used the Just Leaves die set. I die cut the various sizes of leaves using solid colored cardstock and adhered them onto the right/bottom border of the panel.
For the sentiment I used the Sentiments & Quotes stamp set.
My next card features the Layered Wood Flower die set.
I adhered the blooms onto a panel die cut using the Dotted Lines Debossing Cover die. For the sentiment I used the Sentiments & Quotes stamp set again.
Here’s a video to show you how I created these cards.

December 17, 2020 at 4:52 pmGuten tag, Laura – It’s a double bonus!! Snow out there that canned classes for the day (yup, even w/ virtual learning, our district just said “shut it down”) so here I am with a little bit of extra time to do Xmas prep, cards, etc. (my tree is up but not decorated yet) and ALONG COMES A LB VIDEO to totally make the already-good day top-notch! Well, that does NOT chap my khakis but it does float my boat. So I am going to put a few of these Altenew beauties in a cart… it’s payday, to top things off… and move on down the blog hop line. Thanks for sharing and may your oven be fixed / replaced soon. I got a new one in the spring and it has made a huge difference. Oh, and I hear ya about the tech and the kids in different corners. That’s all I hear about from my students and their parents. I do understand but, man!, your loyal fans really do miss those videos. The husband of a dear friend is German and just lost his dad. He was in Germany for 10 days and his dad passed away while he was there. The hubby (Marko) just got out of Germany with their daughter before the lockdown went into place… like hours before it went into effect. So, yes, I have heard all about the conditions. Will say a prayer for your sanity and health. Oh! and one other reaction… three kids with b-days in Dec.? You (or you and your hubby) are the personification of “consistent.” Wow. In our family, I had an aunt and my dad in Dec. and my sister and both in-laws in January and I thought that was a lot… but three kids plus Xmas. That’s a lot to take on! Well, I will wish you luck w/ it and keep moving on the hop! A blessed Christmas to you and your family. Stay healthy!!

December 17, 2020 at 5:17 pmYour cards are always an inspiration, and I need that. Haven’t managed the few Christmas cards I still send out. I have a 12/20 son, so I know from Dec birthdays, but, wow, multiples? I admire you so much for all you do, and through it all you are unflappable, gracious, and cheerful. That’s a wonderful gift for all of us. On top of your creativity. Best wishes for a wondrous Christmas.

We have three Dec. birthdays in our family, plus two that were in Nov. and one in early Jan. Thank goodness for gift cards is all I can say, especially this year. December 17, 2020 at 8:17 pmThese new dies look terrific and your cards are so too!. I sympathize with the December BD, I’m one of those as well. I also have to eat Gluten free, and usually I don’t have a BD cake. I do get homemade GF cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, a task my dear daughter-in-law has taken on. Hang in there Laura and hats off to your family for cooperating so well, learning/working from home!

December 18, 2020 at 4:13 amI love the Foliage dies—something for my wish list. Dec bdays are tough—my husband’s is this week, and it’s always a challenge to think of gifts for both holidays. Mine is near Thanksgiving, and since I usually cook the feast, a bit eclipsed by that holiday. He got me a huge cake from the bakery this year, part of which I wrapped up and took to the neighbor. It was amazing: choc/raspberry mousse.
Julie Greaves
December 18, 2020 at 4:38 amYour cards are both beautiful, but my favorite is the one with the colored leaves. It is so pretty and looks clean and simple with not a flower in sight. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent and ideas with us. 🙂

December 18, 2020 at 8:21 pmLove your cards Laura and all of the beautiful colours make me so happy. Altenew hit a home run with this release. I am so happy you made a video for us! I love to hear about your family life in Germany and hearing about how you are all managing to get through the holiday season despite all the COVID despair. You sound like such a great mom and you must have all of the kids and Mark in stitches with that hilarious, salty sense of humour that you have! Happy Holidays Laura and ps… a while back, I asked you for some advice on ink pad colour choices and you told me all of your faves and I have just received all of my new ink pads and WOW, I am over the moon excited. Thank you so much for helping me. You are a sweetheart! ❤️

December 23, 2020 at 8:32 pmI, too, love a good floral and that Layered Wood Flower die set really “floats my boat” (think I learned that phrase from you). And I love those rainbow leaves. Good luck with those December birthdays. I’m a December girl myself. My birthday is the 31st — six days after Christmas. I would have been thrilled with an ice cream sandwich. As for you being “old,” just wait until your baby turns 48!
