Hi there! Today I’m excited to join several talented designers in hop to celebrate the new 2017 Catalog Release by Hero Arts! I’ve created a couple of projects featuring some of the new products.
My first card features the Birthday Animal Silhouettes stamp set & coordinating frame cuts.
I stamped the colorful animal silhouettes using several Hero Arts inks: Bubblegum, Orange Soda, Butter Bar, Green Apple & Aegean.
This next card showcases the Luggage Tag Alphabet Frame Cuts. I saw this quote on a t-shirt and thought it would be really fun to try with the alpha dies. I went around asking everyone in my house if they could understand the card and even little Emma said, “yep, it’s never look back, mom! I get it!” Hooray! They actually got it! lol!
Behind the die cut panel I blended Orange Soda & Butter Bar ink to create a gradient background.

February 15, 2017 at 5:55 pmI am just getting back into paper crafting. After loving scrap booking for so long, but life sidetracked me–all of the time and interest with my kids, homeschooling, husband, and life. Now, all of my kids are on their own or in college, so I have time to get back into some of my creative loves! I’m excited at all of the growth in techniques and trying to soak it all in. ? I love the gradient technique you used for the background of the “Never Look Back” card. ❤ Thank you!

February 18, 2017 at 11:17 pmHere’s what I want to know. What zoo can I go to visit your colorful animals? LOL I did that once. I was in a colorful mood, when am I not, and I colored a birds feet blue and another animal or bird another color that birds or animals usually aren’t. Someone asked me why I made them that color and I said “In my world, snowflakes are multicolored and animals are that color.” 99% of the time I color flowers and animals the way they are supposed to look and 1% of the time when I get bored with flowers or animals that color I change it up. It makes things more interesting, don’t you think? I know you get me because of what you did with your animals. That card is so colorful it makes me want to go right over your house and craft with you! Either that or give you a hug first and then craft. That is an amazing card!
The Never Look Back ( and I wish I could do the back like in your photo on my computer) is so cool and you used my favorite color yellow in that. I love how you got that gradient look your card too. There are so many nice things on this hop and I can’t wait to see more wonderfulness.

February 19, 2017 at 1:43 pmLaura, I discovered you while watching a Simon Says Stamp YouTube, and I was immediately fascinated by your wonderful, colorful watercoloring. And your great sense of humor–well, that was just another bonus!!! Whenever I see your YouTubes or anything else, I have to stop and take a good look–your cards are SO beautiful, and I am hoping to get into watercoloring very soon (right now I’m doing a major overhaul of my craft room, what a job!!! I’ve basically finished organizing my stamps and dies, but have the rest to do…), I cannot wait to get back in there and spend a lot of time coloring!!! I am especially keen to play with the Zig Clean Color brush markers–I have a set (yay, found them on Amazon), and to try some watercolor paints, and will need to find some good brushes… I need to check and see what you have used on some of your YouTubes… I have no idea what I am doing there–brushes, and which watercolor paints? But I will start with the Zigs. 🙂
I love both of your cards, it would be tough to choose because they are so very different. Your baby zoo animals card is so sweet, I love the muted shades for these…beautiful. And your luggage tags alphabet card is so clever, LOVE it and the beautiful gradient shading, stunning as always, Laura!
