Hi there! Today I have such a super simple & sweet holiday card to share with you.I used the Christmas Tree Stitching die and threaded some green embroidery floss, adding some random beads that I scrounged up from the bottom of our bead bin.
We have a crafty bead bin bursting with all kinds of cute beads. I had a weak moment a few months ago at my local craft store. I had all the kids with me. I was outnumbered. They talked me into buying a ton of cute beads. I might have started the whole thing. I lose my mind in the craft store. They swore they were gonna make beaded bracelets, sell them on etsy and become millionaires.
Needless to say, we’ve made a few personalized bracelets for gifts and here I am using them on my cards. But seriously, how cute is this? Might be one of my most favorite cards ever! I added a simple embossed sentiment using the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set.
Guess what? I have an extra Christmas Tree Stitching die to give away.
Leave me a comment telling me your biggest crafty weakness: stamps, dies, paper, beads, all of the above, etc.?
I’ll pick a random winner from the comments.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

November 30, 2018 at 11:26 amHi Laura! My weakness is patterned paper. I love it all! I buy 12 x 12, 6 x 6 paper pads, foiled paper, shimmer paper , on and on. And I hoard it too! Although I’ve been trying to use it more and more.

November 30, 2018 at 11:31 ammy weakness??…kits! Because I think that if I have all the parts it will be easier to do something. Thing is, now I collect kits! LOL

November 30, 2018 at 11:37 amSo cute! I would have to say patterned paper because I love it, I buy too much of it (!) but I don’t really USE it that often. Lol. Thanks for the chance to win!

November 30, 2018 at 11:37 amTHAT! IS! SO! ADORABLE! I love it so much! You always amaze me with your talent. And I love that you write just like you talk! 😆 I have a weakness for all things crafty, but my biggest weakness is all those cool tools (you know, like scissors that aren’t dull, haha!) that make crafting easier! Merry Christmas, Laura. You are a ray of sunshine!

November 30, 2018 at 11:44 amThis card is SO cute! I love the idea of using floss and beads. Your cards are my favorites of all of the cardmakers I follow. My biggest weaknesses at the craft store are stamps and anything sparkly-and I mean anything!! It’s dangerous for me to even step inside the store. 😬 I’m glad I’m not the only one. Have a great day, Laura!

November 30, 2018 at 11:45 amAll of the above for sure, although I have a magnetic attraction to paper of all kinds. I love love love this die!!!! Sometimes clean and simple is the best!!!!!!

November 30, 2018 at 11:58 amI get such joy and giggles reading your posts, and oh, many lovely ideas for cards! My weakness in the craft store is Washi tape! I have two glass jars on my desk filled with the rolls of it!

November 30, 2018 at 11:58 amall items seen are pretty difficult to resist, but the hardest are the “complete” sets…die, stamp, and ink from Altenew. Thanks for sharing all you do!

November 30, 2018 at 12:07 pmYour card is so darn cute! Every time I go to a craft store I come out with more stuff. I keep buying paper although I have a ton of it and love stamp/die combos I’m obsessed 😳

November 30, 2018 at 12:08 pmSuch a pretty card – this time of year, I love it when things go together quickly! I have a serious weakness for paper, but my biggest downfall would have to be watercolors. I know I can mix whatever color I want, but with so many pretty colors to choose from it’s hard to say no. 🙂

November 30, 2018 at 12:22 pmWhat a beautiful card! I would have to say that one of my biggest weaknesses is stamps and adhesives.

November 30, 2018 at 12:23 pmThat tree card with beads is adorable. My crafting weakness is having to use the 40-50% coupons nearly every week, because I can’t stand to waste them!!!!!! Rotate between JoAnne’s, Michaels and Hobby Lobby. LOL

November 30, 2018 at 12:30 pmI totally understand “weakness”!!! Pretty much anything stamping related would fall into that category for me…from design paper to dies to cute stamps. I always have visions of what I’ll use it for but often that does not turn into reality as something else new is bought instead. I am working on controlling this as I’m running out of room!

November 30, 2018 at 12:31 pmOMG, Laura, your story is hilarious! I can soooo relate to it… Last year I saw amazing bead rope necklaces (and tutorials!) on Pinterest and TOTALLY wanted to conquer them. So, I bought kazillions of tiny seed beads, needles, strings – everything I could think of… Super excited, I even downloaded a weird app to build my own designs for these rope necklaces. Almost immediately I started a simple necklace, to master my new obsession. Well… The string with about 5 iterations of the design (about 25 needed to make a decent chocker) is still somewhere in my craft room, buried deep with all the beading essentials and kazillions of beads. I actually forgot all about it until right now 🙂 I read your post, started laughing at your kids’ promises, and then thought: “waaaaait a minute!!!”
But in general, yes, I’m losing my head in a craft store too! Stamps, dies and inks always find a way to end up in my purse if I put a foot into a craft store…
Carolyn
November 30, 2018 at 12:32 pmMy weakness are the blogs because I love the finished products so I need the stamps, dies etc to make my cards. Thanks for all the inspiration I get from your blog!!
Isabelle
November 30, 2018 at 12:32 pmYour card is really adorable ! I agree, it’s simplicity makes it special.
As for my crafty weakness ? STAMPS !!! Since I’ve discovered the MISTI, I am sure to have them perfectly printed every time, so I can use as often as I want. And I cannot resist buying far too many of them in comparison to the time I’ve got to craft – LOL !
Mirella Rogan
November 30, 2018 at 12:32 pmWonderful, love how you’re using this die – your previous card with it was also amazing! My weakness? Everything crafty (and with a good deal) is my weakness, lol… but I’d say mostly cute stamps and embellishments- you can never have enough of these, right? 🙂

November 30, 2018 at 12:36 pmThis is Awesome!! What a great card, so clever, festive and fun!! My weakness is definitely stamps and dies…

November 30, 2018 at 12:43 pmFirst off, let me say how fantastic this card looks. Simple and chic.
As far as my weakness goes, I got several. LOL – a pretty stamp set, amazing patterned papers – got so many, adorable and cute tiny beads – have several of them. Wink!!

November 30, 2018 at 12:59 pmMy current craft weakness is paper, but I have a LONG history of craft addictions, dating back almost 50 years now! And my ;stash; can verify each of the phases I’ve gone through! :~)

November 30, 2018 at 1:05 pmOh my gosh, I think my weakness is all of the above! Ha ha! I do have to say that I like the matching dies to all of my stamps- I don’t fussy cut very well. Your stitched tree is gorgeous- I would love to make a card like that! The beads were a terrific idea!

November 30, 2018 at 1:08 pmI have a weakness for embellishments for cards and don’t use them enough. Love your card – that is adorable!

November 30, 2018 at 1:23 pmI have to admit I can’t resist paper when I am in the craft stores. I love all of it and your cute tree.

November 30, 2018 at 1:28 pmI LOVE this sweet card! Hmm, my weakness is having coordinating dies to all of my stamp sets. Gotta have them. 🙂

November 30, 2018 at 1:45 pmMy favorite craft things are anything with cats. I am unashamed to admit I am a cat lady. You name it, stamps, dies, paper – if it has cats, I’ve got to have it. If I win this die I will probably make a Christmas tree card with a cat under it. This comment is taking forever for me to type one handed because my cat is sitting on my other hand so I can’t move it!

November 30, 2018 at 1:49 pmHaha, this post is hilarious! My weakness is pattern paper. Love the look, but I never use as much as I buy!

November 30, 2018 at 2:01 pmI love your card! My first thought was “Can I prick holes even enough for
the finished product to actually look like a tree”!!!
My biggest craft weakness is dies! I have quite a lot!! and some are
hardly used!!!
Susan Pezza
November 30, 2018 at 2:04 pmMy weakness is mostly stamps, but I also love dies, sequins, anything to do coloring like Copics, colored pencils, watercolor and the list just goes on 🙂 I also love inks and paper, so whatever you need for cardmaking and scrapbooking, I’m all in LOL!! I love your card! Huge fan of your blog and channel, thanks for keeping us entertained, motivated and teaching us new things!!

November 30, 2018 at 2:18 pmOh Laura, your card is lovely. Though beads are not my weakness, Paper definitely is, all colors, prints.

November 30, 2018 at 2:23 pmYour card is SO PRETTY, Laura! I HAD TO come & leave a comment! Then, to find out you’re doing a giveaway too??? The giving spirit is here already!!! 😉 What is my weakness? LOL It has ALWAYS BEEN stamps, but I am QUICKLY turning to the dies! LOL I go back & forth as to what I find! Know what I mean??? 😉
Lura
November 30, 2018 at 2:25 pmOMG~ That is so darn cute and simple. It hit me like a ton of bricks the instant I laid eyes on it. You are such a gem… My weakness is hard to pinpoint since I am a card making shopaholic. I would have to say the top budget plunger in my craft room would be dies. When they first came out I was like: how can anyone spend that much money on something you can do with your scissors? Needless to say, I am a card-carrying convert now.
Bless you for making my day – every day – with your wonderful creations.

November 30, 2018 at 2:41 pmSuch a cute Christmas tree !! I have a weakness for markers, for stamps, for dies, for …etc, etc lol!!

November 30, 2018 at 2:49 pmSuch a fun card. My weakness is Washi Tape and paper. I just have to have it, but not always sure for what.

November 30, 2018 at 2:57 pmSo cute Laura! My sis-in-law made me a wire tree with beads, to hang in the window, was so cute. I’m weak in the knees for stamps, inks and color mediums! Bad addiction here, with all the amazing sales in the crafty world, I’ve been purchasing stuff for myself which is very baaaaad.
Britta Wuttke
November 30, 2018 at 3:00 pmHi Laura,
I have no specific crafty “can’t-stop-myself” category. It’s just that I can’t resist things that are going out of sale, or else are heavily discounted (like “buy one, get second for half price”). Gets me every time…
Love your blog and Youtube channel, btw. 😊
Kind regards, Britta

November 30, 2018 at 3:06 pmAodrable! 🙂

November 30, 2018 at 3:07 pmHa ha I just recently revisited my bead stash… I also have a stash of paper that I can’t actually cut into… the embellishments that are too beautiful to use… plus my fabric. Sometimes I just take out my quilting fabric, look at it then fold it up and put it back, it does make me happy though. I think I have a problem but I am not sure I want to be cured.
MarciaScantlin
November 30, 2018 at 3:17 pmI like all things related to scrapbooking. I cannot tell a lie.

November 30, 2018 at 3:29 pmWhat’s my weakness??? I have too many to list… it’s more like what’s my weakness this week? I love love love clean and simple. And this one wins! (So to list a few, nuvo drops, inks, markers, die cuts with stamps, oh and paper… shaped larger glitters, skinny ribbons, metallic threads 🧵, oh that would look good with this tree die.

November 30, 2018 at 3:53 pmThat’s gorgeous Laura. My biggest weakness is all of the a oven plus chocolate lolz
Suzi Metcalfe
November 30, 2018 at 4:22 pmDies are my biggest weakness, but crafty things to do with Granddaughter rates pretty high these days. We could do Christmas trees! :o) I love your subtle rainbow arrangement of beads! You thought I wouldn’t notice, didn’t you? LOL!
Pai
November 30, 2018 at 4:39 pmstamps, dies, markers, i have seriously hoarded it all! LOL! love this simple and lovely design!

November 30, 2018 at 4:39 pmSimply adorable card!! My weakness is Full Set Syndrome, of anything! Once I have some of it, I must have ALL of it. I am on a very limited budget now (not a single purchase from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, sigh). I can no longer afford dies, they are just too expensive and the pricing is so wildly varied I have just learned to fussy cut. But I love color, so I get what I can.
Valerie Wood
November 30, 2018 at 4:44 pmThis tree is so darn cute! I have several weaknesses… Beads, washi tape and 6×6 Patten paper pads. I usually use the beads but collect the others!

November 30, 2018 at 6:06 pmWhat a clever idea for a Christmas tree! My weakness is paper! I can’t walk into a craft store and leave without at least 1 sheet of open stock…just love colors and patterns for both card making and scrapbooking!

November 30, 2018 at 6:10 pmGREAT card!!! Very unique idea!!! My crafty weakness is dies & especially dies that do more than just cut a shape…like this tree die. The beads are perfect!

November 30, 2018 at 6:15 pmMy biggest crafty weakness (at this moment in time!) is anything Tim Holtz. I just can’t not buy it! Super cute card.

November 30, 2018 at 6:55 pmHis Laura! This stitched tree is so cute. I love paper and stitched crafts. This one combines the two 😊
PamC
November 30, 2018 at 7:15 pmYAY! Another idea using beads! My crafty weakness is stamp & die sets. If the designer and manufacturer went to the trouble of making a stamp and die set…then I have to reward their hard work by buying the set.
Leezie M
November 30, 2018 at 7:19 pmLove love love that card! Second only to dies (especially intricate cover dies!) I’d have to say ink. Ink pads in particular. Love coloring all kinds of ways with ‘em.
Amy Klin
November 30, 2018 at 8:38 pmYour card is great – geometric, rainbow and Christmas all together! I’d say stamps, dies and tools for my weaknesses.

November 30, 2018 at 8:47 pmThe simplicity yet fun result of the beads on yarn make this a stunner, Laura~ I love dies – so many possibilities with them.

November 30, 2018 at 9:24 pmThis card is just too sweet. Love, love it!
My weakness, well let me see. . . I think it’s my addiction to this hobby. Stamps, dies, inks, paper, what’s not to like! The best addition to this art form was the stitching dies. I have made many special stitched cards and everyone has loved them.
Toni C
November 30, 2018 at 9:24 pmSooo cute! I’ve been looking for ideas for a card I can make with my friend’s daughter for her teacher and I think this is it! Everything paper-craft is my weakness. I have so much stuff I have never actually used but love to look at!
Paula M
November 30, 2018 at 9:41 pmIt’s hard to pick just one weakness, but I guess it’s stamps. I have quite a few and I find it hard to purge them.

November 30, 2018 at 11:58 pmI love this die and your card. as for weaknesses, where to start! the biggest happen at those craft shows. Despite having a Very Full craft room already, I always see something new and before I know it I have a pile of stuff I can’t remember how to use once I get home. glue and table napkins was 2017’s, 2018’s was those black outline stickers and gel pens on acetate. looks amazing at the show and how easy – anyone can do it right? seriously you have to actually get them out of the box when you get home – thats the secret. so far I haven’t even started and the show as back in July – LOL. I love your videos and chat Laura, so thanks!
Karen Page
December 1, 2018 at 12:00 amOmg, mine is paper… 12×12, 8.5×11, and lots of 6×6! If you stacked it all, it would be several feet taller than I am!!!

December 1, 2018 at 2:27 amOh always paper! I can’t get myself to not order *moar paper* 😀 I believe my craft room is at least double as heavy as the other rooms in the house, just because of the countless sheets of scrapbook paper 😉

December 1, 2018 at 5:30 amJust all of it! But right now REALLY weak when it comes to stamps. And don’t get me started about the Christmas my daughter said she wanted craft supplies – let’s just say I’m not really sure who I bought all that stuff for!
Dottie Mazullo
December 1, 2018 at 6:50 amMy biggest crafty weakness used to be washi tape, but now it is dies. My new year’s resolution is that I can’t buy another die until I use all of the ones I have…unless, of course, I win one! Love all of your posts and videos and I look forward to each one!
Valerie W.
December 1, 2018 at 7:51 amThat card is just too, too precious, Laura! Great idea to get some use out of those beads you bought in a week moment (lol, I’ve had many of those, and this might be one of them!)! Your CAS look on this card is just perfect. Double thumbs up!!

December 1, 2018 at 8:12 amHi Laura, my weakness is wanting the matching die sets that go with the stamps, but I’ve noticed the price increase on the metal and its just not as affordable now.
Susan Young
December 1, 2018 at 9:56 amMy crafty weakness is when I watch a video tutorial or read a blog with the links to purchase the supplies needed to make the project, then guess what I’m doing…buying all those supplies! But I love making cards and being creative! Thanks for sharing!
Jody V
December 1, 2018 at 10:28 amSo nice. I love the addition of the beads. You always have such nice cards. Thank you for sharing all your ideas with us. Thanks. My 90 year old aunt made me a card similar to this with a silver stitched tree on black cardstock. So precious. Thank you.
Nikki
December 1, 2018 at 10:34 amAll of the above! I grew up with a crafty mom that liked to crochet and do various crafts with my Girl Scout troop. Then, I got into paper crafting myself! Love the craft store!!

December 1, 2018 at 11:42 amLOVE this darling card!!! I have a weakness for designer papers and have a hard time cutting into them:)
Jayne H.
December 1, 2018 at 2:02 pmWhat a pretty card. Millionaire bracelet makers!!!! Cracking up because I can picture you in the craft store digging through all the beads. My weakness is anything on sale with a coupon to increase the savings. Once a year I clean out the craft room a take everything I no longer “love” to my classroom.
Jean G.
December 1, 2018 at 2:43 pmWhat a fabulous card! That has to be one of my favorites. I used to make all sorts of crafts for a Gift Shop operated by a not-for-profit organization. Now that the shop,is closed, out of habit, I am always looking for new things at the craft shops. Now my children and grandchildren are the recipients of many of my projects. I just making things!!!!!

December 1, 2018 at 7:09 pmSweeeeet card! My weakness… Christmas die sentiments!

December 1, 2018 at 7:22 pmGorgeous card! I love the idea of using beads. My weakness is dies and I blame you and Jennifer McGuire equally for the amount of dies I own after seeing cards you’ve made.
Carol Jones
December 1, 2018 at 8:47 pmYour card is fabulous! I love stitching on cards although I haven’t done it in a very long time, used to do tons of cross-stitching, kinda miss it. But my passion now is paper crafting. My big weakness is Dies, but I’ve been doing this for over 15 years so I have a huge stash of everything. Except cover dies, for some reason I don’t have any of those yet but I’m going to rectify that soon! LOL! Like I need more of anything. But it’s not my fault I have a large stash, it’s the crafty companies who keep making more & more cute stuff!
Carla Hundley
December 2, 2018 at 12:10 amI love how you made your
tree with the beads! This
would be fun to use with
felt and baker’s twine with
beads. I love buying felt
and dies.

December 2, 2018 at 7:08 amPaper. Its so inexpensive that I don’t feel as bad buying it when I already have way more than I can ever use.
I love how you used random beads from the kids bead drawer. We have plenty of those. Need more? 🙂
Susan
December 2, 2018 at 2:52 pmMy weakness is dies! I love them. This tree is so cute with the stitching and very cute beads!
Carrie
November 22, 2019 at 3:27 amIt’s hard to pick one crafty weakness but it’s the crafty tools like the Misti’s, Copic Markers, etc. I just can’t resist them. Love the tree beaded card and thanks for the chance to win this die
Marcia Rollins
December 2, 2018 at 3:32 pmI love the headed tree! I retired from beading, for now, because of hand problems. Hand made papers are my love!!! An addiction to all of Catherine Poolers’ products is a BIG problem! I Love inky fingers and special papers when they get married!
Jill Ryan
December 2, 2018 at 4:41 pmMy weakness…everything if I could show you my craft room you’d understand. When I see a cute project I tend to go “all-in”. Now I have “no-where to assemble them!!! I have all the tools needed…now I just need the die! Cute!!!
Kathy Rudolph
December 2, 2018 at 9:17 pmMy weakness? Ha….it’s watching YouTube videos of card makers using all sorts of materials that I have to check out, contemplate, and way too often, BUY! But you know what? I’m OK with that. Because creating is fun and a handmade card puts a smile on someone’s face. So it’s worth it. Keep ’em comin’, Laura!

December 3, 2018 at 10:08 amLove this simple and retro card! Guess it’s time to pull out my beads. Thanks for sharing!

December 3, 2018 at 10:13 amOops! Forgot to mention my craft weakness. I love all crafts but dies are probably my biggest weakness although since I got a MISTI I’ve really been getting into stamps, especially layering ones.

December 4, 2018 at 5:47 pmWe only have Michaels for crafts and I hardly ever shop there. But when I go to my local scrapbook stores, it’s paper. Patterned paper. I have so much paper that I don’t have room for even one more piece but I buy it anyway! Gotta love the paper!

December 4, 2018 at 7:03 pmYes taking kids to a craft store is such a bad idea for me too! Ha! I love this cute beaded tree. My weekness is stamps – especially the cute kind.

December 17, 2018 at 9:27 amWith the exception of the beads I have a weakness for all of them and I am a hoarder of all of all of them. I have a difficult time parting with any of it to make something. I am having to force myself to use some of it. Yet I continue to add more to my stash.

Thanks for the inspiration & I hope you are doing well!

November 29, 2019 at 4:57 pmLOVE, LOVE this tree. I just ordered the die and hope it will be here next week. I have a lot of stitching friends and these would make nice gifts for them. Thank you ever sooooo much for sharing.
