Hi there! Today I’m sharing this colorful project over on the Mama Elephant blog featuring a few of the fun, new January release products.
To begin I die cut the Cloudy Day Cover with white cardstock and masked off each cloudy section to blend & flick color using distress inks.
Then I stamped and colored the adorable images from Stackable Cuties with Copics & kinda tucked them into the Cloudy Day background. For the sentiment I used Wild Meadow.
Here is a video to show you how I created this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

January 28, 2019 at 9:48 amLove the card just the way it is (altho, I think you’re right… the clouds probably do go the other way; billowing up). Thanks for sharing your sponging technique; so clever. And the matching ink “flicks” are subtle, yet they add so much! Always a pleasure to watch your creative videos. TFS!!

January 28, 2019 at 10:02 amI looked at it as clouds. I didn’t think otherwise until you said something. Lovely card as always ๐

January 28, 2019 at 10:41 amI would have to see it turned the other way to give an opinion on which way would be better but…..I love it enough, just the way it is, to buy the cloudy day die. ๐

January 28, 2019 at 10:52 amIt never occurred to me that they were upside down, so no matter. The card is cute and cheerful.

January 28, 2019 at 11:17 amYour card is adorable ! I love all these little critters having fun in a rainbow, I’d love to go and play with them.
A few days ago, I was at the end of my walk with the dogs, at about 5 pm. The sky was cloudy and it looked exactly like yours (with less different colors of course ๐!) : the top of the clouds were going from white to gray, but the bottom of the clouds were bright pink, taking the color from the sunset. So your background is perfect to my point of view. It’s a shame I did not have the opportunity to take a picture, the sky was so beautiful and I could have send it to you ๐. Sorry about that !

January 28, 2019 at 3:42 pmI’m sorry. I did wonder why you were doing it upside down. Then I figured it was just for variety, since it looks great either way. And you avoided pukage in your flickage. That would have been intolerable! ๐

January 28, 2019 at 9:11 pmI think the clouds would have looked better, but the way it is is fine. A little creative license

January 28, 2019 at 10:16 pmThe die can be used either way I think depending on which clouds are in front vs. in the back. If that makes sense… it does to me. The way you have has the top could in front of the others. The other way would have the bottom cloud in front of the others. The card is cute!!

January 29, 2019 at 1:15 amI hate to say this, but according to the Mama Elephant site, it is upside down, but since it’s release I haven’t paid attention if everyone put theirs on correctly or not now that you pointed it out and I don’t really think it matters. I lover you card, upside down and all!! I’m a huge fan and am a subscriber! I love that you always show us fun things that I hadn’t even thought of, like in this video to put paper between the cuts of the clouds to do the shading, very smart!! Thanks for sharing!
