Hi there! Today I’m joining Simon Says Stamp for Day 2 of their Fresh Bloom release blog hop!
My project features the Triangle Element die. I die cut several out of white cardstock and stacked them up using spray adhesive for added dimension.
I blended distress inks onto a panel of white cardstock using Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet & Salty Ocean and then ran it through with the Triangle Element die. I inlayed the ink blended triangles into the white die cut on a navy background. The contrast of this on the navy absolutely toots my flute!
For the sentiment I used the You Got This stamp & die set. Here’s a video to show you how I created this card.
GIVEAWAY!!
Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop! Leave me a comment for your chance to win.
Winners will be chosen over the weekend and posted on the Simon Says Stamp store blog on Wednesday, the 13th of March.

March 9, 2019 at 8:44 amIT’S PERFECT, LAURA!!! I too LOVE those triangles, & I’m not one to naturally gravitate to the geometric! LOL BUT, I AM falling in love with them, because of your love for them! 😉 LOVE your card! AND as for the Pick Up Stick thingy— I have a Silohuette Pick Me Up Stick, & it leaves goo. It gets stickier by just twisting the end just a bit & fresh goo comes out. I wouldn’t recommend the Marvy Jewel Picker–it looses it’s stickiness QUITE QUICKLY- The package says to lightly sand it if it looses the stickiness, but it doesn’t work. Nina Marie says to wipe it with a baby wipe, but that doesn’t work either! It’s time to spend the BIG BUCKS! I recently got the Crystal Katana & LOVE IT! Yana said, (on a video of hers) that she’s had hers about a year (at that time) & it was STILL STICKY! Not needing to replace the head. I bought an EXTRA head JUST IN CASE! LOL But, I think it will work FINE! That package says, if you get glue on the end, just to scratch it off & it STILL WORKS! 😉 I think it’s turned out to be THE BEST BUY of them ALL!
P.S. Make sure you get the case to go with it to keep it clean! The end is a wax & will attract all sorts of dust, hair & ick! LOL And it may look kind of chunky, but it is VERY LIGHT WEIGHT! (It’s hallow bamboo)
HOPE this helps! 😉

March 9, 2019 at 11:08 amAwesome card Laura with this most awesome release from SSS! I have the silouhette pick m e up tool, the stick it part unscrews, so I don’t know if you can just replace the sticky part? The directions says you can change the amount that comes out. I use the jewel picker for sequins, haven’t tried it on larger paper things.

March 9, 2019 at 2:58 pmThis card!!! ❤️ Your work is always so inspiring and beautiful. I’ve tried a few different sticky tools and my favorite is the Crystal Katana. When the point starts to go a little wonky and it starts to lose its stick I simply roll it between my finger and thumb. Viola, back to new again.

March 9, 2019 at 6:15 pmWhen I saw that triangle die on the release preview, I *knew* you’d make a card highlighting that die.
As for Quik pic tool, mine is still sticky, but I find it awkward to use. I took Vicky P’s advice from her wonderful clips-n-cuts blog and bought a white wax pencil that they use in nail salons (I never get manicures, so I had no idea). Bought 2 for $2 on amazon. Works like a charm!
Donna Kalinowsky

March 9, 2019 at 10:05 pmLove it! The colours are perfect. Becky Green says it all regarding the Quickstik and the Jewel Picker. I haven’t bought the Crystal Katana yet but have tried some really inexpensive wax pencils that are used for nail art – they don’t stay sticky for long but you just sharpen them and I got 5 in a pack for AUD$1.30!

March 9, 2019 at 11:26 pmAmazing card, Laura! It’s clean and simple but really striking on the navy background. This die was on my list of possibilities, but I really needed to see some inspiration. I knew this one would be right up your alley! As for the pick me up tool, if you pull the sticky stuff off the tip of it you can then twist the barrel and more sticky will come out. I hope that helps. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card!
Denise Bryant

March 10, 2019 at 1:19 amThat is a great card love the ideas. I have never tried spray adhesive, what an idea! I have a quick pick, i don’t find it looses it’s stickiness, I just seam to use up to much of that that is sticky because it always seems to be squishing out. Have not tried a jewel picker, sorry.

March 10, 2019 at 12:29 pmSo Fun! You make everything look so easy! Love spray adhesive also. Liquid glue & me have a hate relationship. 😂😂😂 also I like using reverse tweezers & craft pick because all those jewel pickers don’t work for me either. 😩 Tfs ❤😘

March 11, 2019 at 3:06 pmJust gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever done a rainbow against navy, but now I’m definitely going to! Also, I think you and Cathy Zielske should get together to make a sentiment set of Laura-isms: “You toot my flute!” Thanks for sharing.
