Hi there! Today I’m sharing my first German card. The sentiment means “All the Best”…at least I think that’s what it means. I have been known to get these things wrong from time to time:)
I used the Ich flieg auf Dich stamp set from the Stamp Corner shop. Ich flieg auf Dich translates, “I’m flying on you”…which doesn’t really make sense, but sometimes things don’t really translate well. There are three German sentiments in this set. The one that I used actually says, “Alles Gute Kommt von Oben, which means, “Everything good comes from above”. I love that phrase, but I shortened it to fit the composition better.
For the image I masked off the bear to make it look like he’s hanging over the hot air balloon basket. I masked off the heart balloon as well to blend the color using Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick. I colored the rest with Copics and fussy cut the whole thing to pop up onto the background. The pattern paper is by Pinkfresh Studio as well as the enamel dots.
Hope everyone is staying safe & healthy during this crazy time. Are you getting much crafty time in? I am having a hard time focusing with everyone home and trying to get these kids to do their homework. We spend 90% of our time translating the directions from German. It is a struggle and makes me appreciate the teachers so very much. Luckily math is math no matter where you are. Reading, however, is another ballgame. I am amazed at how quick the kids are picking up the language, though. Tonight is pizza night so that’s all that matters. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
