Simple Geometric Stitching

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a couple of projects where I experiment with clean, modern stitching on my cards.

SSS-Reverse Love Sentiment Strips

I was inspired by the talented Rachel Parker Designs. Her beautiful stitching pieces are so fresh and geometric. I wanted to try something similar on a card.

I created my own stitching panels by punching holes using a thin needle. For the floss I used some cheap neon floss that I picked up at the dollar store. Gotta love a dollar store find! I took one single strand of thread out of the embroidery floss to make is super skinny, which gives an easy, breezy feel.

For the sentiments I used the CZ Reverse Love Sentiment Strips, and die cut them using one of the Sentiment Label dies.

I love the clean, geometric lines with lots of white space and bright pops of neon color.

Here’s a video to show you how I created these cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’ve got some dies and lots of threads but now I realised what’s missing – Neon! These are super fabulous.

These are great! How many inches are between the dots in the row and the columns?

Geometric shapes and neon colors — what more could we ask for? I used to do needlework all the time until my eyes got too old (amazingly I’m still a young 72, but my eyes are apparently much older). That said, I think I can do this! I’m definitely going to give it a try.

I remember the stitching phase with tiny seed beads. Oh so long ago. Still have the embroidery floss and the metallic threads. Now I need to go find neon threads…they really make your design pop! Giggled at your Fraggle Rock hair comment.
