Hi there! Today I’m sharing this cute, little card featuring a new die that I recently purchased from Walt & Wald. They are a German-based company and I fell in love with their clean, modern style. I ordered this Fachwerkhaus die, which means, “half-timbered house”…at least I think that’s what it means. I’m correct with my translations about 25% of the time, lol.
Not gonna lie. It was a labor of love die cutting all of these tiny, little pieces in various colors, but it was worth it. You could make a much simpler and easier version by just doing more neutral colors.
I created a grassy hill using one of the Stitched Slopes & Hills dies. For the sentiment I used one of the Reverse Miss You sentiment strips. It would be cute to add a little wreath on the houses to make them Christmassy, too.
Wouldn’t it be so great if we could all retire on the same block? How crafty and fun would that be? Thanks so much for stopping by!

December 2, 2020 at 12:02 pmWhat a wonderful doe…and I love how you used it. It may have been tedious to it together, but wow, it is worth it in the end. And yes, I think there should be random villages of card makers and other crafters when we retire. That would be loverly!

December 2, 2020 at 4:27 pmI love those houses! I’ve been to Germany twice and love the architecture. What a grand idea to share your local crafts supplies! I look forward to more cards from European suppliers. When I get back to Europe I will look for dies and stamps. Merry Christmas!

December 2, 2020 at 7:11 pmI love this die! When I read the sentiment, I thought you had made it for your husband ( I have an odd sense of humour!). I would want to frame it, it is so beautiful! I’d love to live in a neighbourhood of crafters!

Fachwerkhaus, that means literally a house made of shapes. The timber forms these shapes, usually triangels, which are filled with stones.

December 5, 2020 at 10:53 pmGorgeous card and awesome die set Laura. When I openend your mail and saw the card I iimmediately new what houses these where. Both Germany and parts of Switzerland are known for these kinds of great feats of craftsmanship.
Although it’s a real German thing I love that you turned it on in something from yourself by using bright colours.
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
